What do Levels mean?
Beginner/(Level I)
Well-suited for anybody who is new to yoga. Important alignment principles are introduced in basic standing poses, beginner seated poses, forward bends, twists and backward extensions. The class is open to all students.
Level II
Continue to learn using the Iyengar Yoga alignment principles. General class, open to all students. Inversions are introduced and practiced.
Intermediate
Continue to learn in All asana categories, developing clarity, stability and direction in asanas, connecting actions within asana and asana to asana.
All Level Class
Classes are open to students of Beginner and Level II classes. Inverted poses will be a part of every class, but students of different levels will work to their capacity.
Silver Yoga Class
Exploring yoga after age of 60+ can be just as beneficial as at any other age. Students will work on poses in all categories of asanas: standing poses, forward extensions, backward extensions, seated and mild inversions with and without support.
Gentle Yoga/Alexandria City Recreation
Slower paced class with focus on stability. Students are introduced to standing, seated and supine poses slowly and gradually; props such as wall, chair, bolsters, blankets,
straps and blocks are used to build body awareness, increase strength, improve stability and balance.
Private Classes
Classes are designed for each individual student per needs and capacity.
What to expect in my classes?
Beginning students are introduced in a methodical and gradual way to standing poses, forward bends, twists, backbends, inversions, supine and restorative asanas and more. Students explore their own body alignment and learn how to create stability and balance.
This approach ensures that each student progresses from posture to posture, class to class, and year to year.
Live-Stream Classes
What do you need to join a Live-Stream Class?
A device (computer, iPad, iPhone, Android device) connected to the Internet (preferably High-speed) and equipped with microphone
and a camera. Have your device fully charged or be plugged in
A broadband Internet connection is highly recommended, since video does take a lot of bandwidth. If your connection gets sketchy during class, try turning off your video camera (so you can
still see me, even if I cannot see you). That can take a big chunk out of the demand you are placing on your device and Internet connection.
Follow the ZOOM meeting link (Zoom registration confirmation email). This link will open the meeting in your browser
When you join the meeting, your microphone will automatically be muted. This is to reduce any audio feedback, and keeps the virtual meeting space from becoming an echo chamber. As a
general rule, please keep your microphone muted unless you want to speak and then unmute yourself. I will look at everybody who has video on!
I hope these classes not only bring us to the mat, but also will help us maintain a sense of community, togetherness and normalcy through this difficult and unprecedented time.
What is a live-stream class? A Live-Stream class is a virtual class over a Video platform. My classes will be via ZOOM (www.zoom.us). This service is free to you as a participant of a conference. All you will need to do is to register for a class at least an hour prior to the start of class. The link for each class will be embedded into the time of a class (hyperlinked). For example, you if you plan to take a Saturday morning class at 9:00 AM, you will have to ‘click’ on the time of the class (9:00 AM) and you will be redirected to the registration page, once you register, you will receive an email with the information (link) to join the conference via ZOOM.
While the medium is virtual, the intention is the same:
focus on body awareness;
gain stability and balance;
build strength and flexibility in a safe and conscious way
Have fun!

What do you need to keep in mind?
Yoga is a personal practice, but it is a practice and every practice needs repetition and time.
