About Leah
My name is Leah DiQuollo, and I am a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher located in the Seminary Hill area of Alexandria, VA. I am also a Certified Yoga Therapist, registered with the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
I love to teach and consider it a privilege to share the gift of Iyengar Yoga with all. I work with each student to help them develop body awareness, gain stability and balance; and build strength and flexibility in a safe and conscious way.
As a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, I have a sharp skill of observation and ability to guide students of all age groups and physical abilities.
In 1998, I took my first Yoga class and within two years began teaching basic Hatha and flow classes. In 2005, I found my way to an Iyengar Yoga class in Arlington, VA and fell in love with this method, which in simple terms is alignment based and centered on mind-breath-body connection.
I passed my Introductory I&II assessment in 2016, and my Intermediate Junior I assessment in 2018. I have taught at Unity Woods from 2018 to 2020 (till the studio closed) and now continue to teach out of my home studio in Alexandria, VA. Currently I am studying with Abhijata Iyengar in her on-line classes and continue my studies with US based Sr teachers such as John Schumacher, Juliana Fair, Lois Stienburg, Chris Saudek and others. I have finally taken my first trip to RIMYI, Pune, India in December of 2021!
I am grateful to all my teachers for imparting their knowledge of the subject of yoga and their guidance, support and continued inspiration.
