About Leah
My name is Leah DiQuollo, and I am a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher located in the Seminary Hill area of Alexandria, VA. I am also a Certified Yoga Therapist, registered with the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
I love to teach and consider it a privilege to share the gift of Iyengar Yoga with all. I work with each student to help them develop body-mind awareness, gain stability and balance; and build strength and flexibility in a conscious way.
As a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, I have a sharp skill of observation and ability to guide students of all age groups and physical abilities.
In 1998, I took my first Yoga class and within two years began teaching basic Hatha and flow classes. In 2005, I found my way to an Iyengar Yoga class in Arlington, VA and fell in love with this method, which in simple terms is 'alignment' based and centered on body-breath-mind connection.
I passed my Introductory I&II assessment in 2016, and my Intermediate Junior I assessment in 2018. I have taught at Unity Woods from 2018 to 2020 (till the studio closed) and now continue to teach out of my home studio in Alexandria, VA.
I have been studying with Abhijata Iyengar in her on-line classes since 2020. I am learning in Level I, Intermediate , Advanced and Pranayama classes. Also, I continue to study with US based and RIMYI teachers Prashant Iyengar, Rajlaxmi Nidmarti, Juliana Fair, Lois Steinberg, Chris Saudek and others.
I have taken my first trip to RIMYI, Pune, India in December of 2022 for Yoganushasanam! I went back to RYMYI for a month of January in 2024! It was a fantastic opportunity to learn and explore the methodology of Iyengar Yoga and observe regular classes at the Institute.
I am grateful to all my teachers for imparting their knowledge of the subject of yoga and their guidance, support and continued inspiration.
